Luke 19:11-28
by Andrés Chinchín
“And calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas, and said unto them, Trade while I come” (Luke 19:13)
In this parable of Jesus, we see that it is not the king who needs the work of his servants to become rich, but rather his kindness and desire to share his wealth and his coming kingdom with them. In other words, by giving them the minas, the king is allowing them to take part in a purpose beyond anything they could imagine.
In this case, the minas are simply a way to test the faithfulness and character of his servants, in order to give them greater responsibility in the coming kingdom. Unfortunately, one of the servants does not truly know the king or his character and his way of thinking is distorted and selfish, and it is for that reason that he ends up losing his privileges.
To think:
¿In what area of your life, have you not known the kindness and love of the king? What are the minas that he has given you and that you still need to invest?
Prayer:
Lord, you are a good and merciful king. Give me love and fear for you, to invest and work in the minas that you have given me and thus train me for your coming kingdom and eternal life.
Amen.
