Matthew 15:21-28
by Andrés Chinchín

“Woman, great is your faith!” Jesus answered. “May your will be done. And from that moment her daughter was healed” (Matthew 15:28).

These verses show us the importance of persevering in prayer. Here the Syrophoenician woman has a need, and Jesus Christ seems to ignore her request; however, it was he himself who went to that region, knowing that he would meet her and that perhaps she could not go to Jewish territory. This is how it is Jesus’ visit that allows the woman to make her request, and receive the miracle through faith.

To Think:

Jesus invites us to knock on the door and ask with faith.
In what area of your life do you feel discouraged? Do not give up, and persevere in your request.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank you for taking the initiative in my life. Help me to persevere in prayer even when it seems there is no answer.

Amen
