Matthew 5:17-20
by Andrés Chinchín
“For I say to you, unless your righteousness is greater than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:20).
Sometimes we confuse grace with God’s permissiveness, and although he is good and sovereign, He also wants his followers to live in a way that pleases him, because he is a just judge. Those who abuse his grace and use it as licentiousness to do what they please and teach others to do the same will be considered minors in the kingdom of heaven.
To think:
In what area of your life have you let sin and permissiveness take power?
There is still time to repent and do things right.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for your love and faithfulness, teach me to follow your commandments and walk in your ways faithfully.
Amen.
