Devotional
Luke 24:1-12
by Andrés Chinchín Talavera

“They said to them, ‘Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen’” (Luke 24:5-6).

These verses remind us of Jesus’ power over death. Even when it seemed that everything was over, the women went to do their work, and it was there that they received the news of Jesus’ triumph, and they were able to sing it to others and encourage them—even when some didn’t believe.

Likewise, in our lives, it seems that there are battles that have been completely lost; however, in God, there is always new hope. This word encourages us to continue working and fulfilling our duty, just like the women that day at the tomb, for we never know when the Lord might surprise us with his power and deliverance.

To think:

The Lord is an expert at turning our defeats into victories.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for your triumph over death. Help me to trust in you and believe that no matter the circumstances, you can turn defeat into victory.

Amen.
