John 16:25-33
by Andrés Chinchín Talavera
“In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
In these verses, we can read that the disciples were certain that Jesus had been sent by the Father. However, difficult times were coming, and Jesus knew that his disciples would be afraid and abandon him. Despite this, he comforted them in advance, reminding them that the Father was always with him, and that no matter how difficult the coming circumstances might be, he had already overcome the world, and they would overcome it.
To Think:
No matter how severe our affliction, Jesus has the victory.
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for your victory over sin, evil, and our difficult situations. Help us to trust and place our hope in you even when all seems lost.
Amen.
