John 6:22-24
by Andrés Chinchín Talavera
“When the crowds saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they got into the boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus” (John 6:24).
In these verses, we see the human need for security. We know that Jesus had fed the 5,000, and for that reason the people began to seek him. It is true that the Kingdom of Heaven brings daily provision, as the catechism explains in the exposition of the Lord’s Prayer; however, it is not only food and clothing but the transformation of our entire lives that interests God—our thoughts, our attitudes, our words.
Think about it:
The Lord wants to satisfy all our needs and give us a life of fullness in Him. This goes beyond material goods.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You are our Father, and that all good things come from You. Teach us to recognize You in every aspect of our lives, and shape us with Your Holy Spirit to live and walk in eternal life.
Amen
