Matthew 5: 17-19

These verses show us our inability to fulfil God’s perfect law. In our own strength, our righteousness cannot surpass the righteousness of the Pharisees and teachers of the law, and this is because the problem is not the actions but the heart.
To Think
How is your heart today? Has it become hardened by sin, have you taken God’s grace lightly?
Let the Lord examine you, cleanse you, and give you the Spirit of him, so that you can dwell in him and be transformed into his image and likeness.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for your love and mercy in teaching us your law, give us clean hearts and hands, so that we can dwell in your sanctuary.
