Colossians 1:1-8
by Andres Chinchin
“Always praying for you, we give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love you have for all the saints” (Colossians 1: 1-8).
The city of Colossae was one of the smallest in the empire, and it seems that the doctrine of the church was being corrupted with mystical elements and Jewish legalism.
However, Paul begins his letter with thanks to God for the faith of the believers, and for the fruit of love that this faith had produced between them.
To Think:
During the difficult times of life, it is easy to focus on the negative. What is something that you can thank God for today?
Prayer:
Thank you Lord for the faith that you have placed in our hearts, help us to grow in love towards you and towards our brothers.
Amen
