Isaiah 40:25-31
by Andrés Chinchín
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
Sometimes we may think that the Lord does not see our problems and suffering; however, this words remind us that everything is in God’s sight and that in his time he will act kindly to those who love him and wait for him.
The Lord will renew their strength. The word renews refers “‘to change’…[it] comes to mean ‘to put on afresh’: here, ‘keep putting on fresh strength” (Motyer, as cited in Guzik, 2021). In this way, it will be evident to the world that only God was able to do this out of his immense compassion and love.
To Think:
In what areas of your life do you lack strength?
Wait patiently on the Lord and on his word, and ask him to renew your strength.
Prayer:
Thank you Lord because you are the one who renews our strength. Help us to wait on you and your word with full confidence that you love us and are in control.
