Titus 3: 1-11
by Andrés Chinchín

“This message is trustworthy, and I want you to emphasize it, so that those who have believed in God may strive to do good works. This is excellent and beneficial for everyone” (Titus 3:8).

In these verses from the Epistle of Titus, the apostle Paul exhorts us to obey God by submitting to the governmental authorities—which have been established by him—and to honor our neighbour in word and deed.

We can do all this not by our own effort, but by the love of God who has come to us in Jesus Christ and has redeemed us from sin and evil, by his sacrifice on the cross and his resurrection, allowing us to live holy lives that are pleasing to the Father by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Food for thought:

We must always return to our baptism, through which we have been regenerated and renewed in the Holy Spirit.

 Prayer:

Lord, thank you that you are our savior. Teach us to live according to your will, obeying your law by the power of your Holy Spirit.

Amen
