Philippians 2: 1-11
by Andrés Chinchín

“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or vainglory, but in humility of mind regard others as better than yourselves, not looking each to his own interests, but each to the interests of others” (Philippians 2: 3-4)

In these verses, the apostle Paul reminds us of the character of Jesus, who, being in the form of God, humbled himself and was obedient to the Father until death on the cross; and he exhorts us to live in the same way, in humility, respecting and honoring our neighbors, and looking out for their well-being.

Likewise, the apostle recapitulates the exaltation and glorification of Christ, and thus encourages us to be obedient to God.

To think about:

Jesus Christ is our example of submission, humiliation, and exaltation.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for your humility and obedience. Teach me, form me, and mold me into your image.

Amen.
