Acts 2:36-42
by Andrés Chinchín Talavera
“Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit’” (Acts 2:38).
In this small portion of Scripture, we see the power of God through the preaching of the Gospel. The apostle Peter preaches to those who were in Jerusalem for the Feast of Pentecost. We don’t know for sure how eloquent the message was, but we can be sure that the confession of the name of Jesus Christ made the message reach out with power, and thus people believed and received salvation.
Think About It:
The Gospel is the power of God, and we never know the seeds its pure preaching can plant and the fruit it can bear.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Jesus Christ, Your Son, and for the power that exists in the gospel message. Help me to be aware of this truth so that I may be your witness to those who do not know you.
Amen
