A Grey Afternoon
A grey afternoon,
Clouds pregnant with malice,
quieter woods,
cacophonic mind,
much left unspoken,
volumes comforted in silence,
a walk taken.
The geese on the water
abashed, unhurried and adrift,
disposition of a restless heart;
solace of a longing triumph,
held by a bond, two of me
one of us;
made in another time,
who is the teacher,
the geese, you or a morrow’s weather…
