In this photo, we see the kingdom of Israel and the kingdom of Judah. The Bible tells us that the kingdom of Israel joined forces with foreign kings to attack and destroy Jerusalem in the south. King Ahaz—King of the South—was very afraid and decided to seek the help of his enemies to protect him.
It is here that the prophet Isaiah asks him not to do it and to trust in the Lord. He even tells him that the Lord is willing to give him a sign, but the king is very scared and prefers to take control to protect himself rather than waiting on the Lord.
To think:
In what areas of your life are you struggling to maintain control?
Remember that the Lord is just and good, and that he takes care of those who trust in him.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust in you and your care, and give me faith to stand firm even in difficult times.
Amen
