James 4:13-17
by Andrés Chinchín
“Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that” (James 4:15).
These verses remind us how delicate life is. Wisdom and prudence exhort us to live in the fear of God, taking one day at a time, and recognizing that tomorrow belongs to Him. However, this is not an excuse for inaction, on the contrary, it is a call to focus on what is before us each day in humility.
To think:
We are called to make plans and anticipate the future, but always remembering that God is the one who directs our progress, and that in the end it will depend on his will if what we plan comes to fruition.
Prayer:
Lord, you are the one who is in control of our lives. He directs our steps and our destiny according to your mercy and good will.
Amen.
