Luke 5:1-16
by Andrés Chinchín
“Simon answered and said to him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing, but at your word I will let down the net’” (Luke 5:5).
Sometimes we think that the Lord has forgotten us and abandoned us. Surely, Peter and the man with leprosy felt that God had forgotten us; however, we see that Jesus, although sometimes it seems that he is late, always arrives at the right time. For Peter it was through the miraculous catch of fish, while for the man with leprosy it was through healing.
To think about:
Both Peter and the man with leprosy had reasons to distrust God’s love; however, they decided to take a final step of faith, despite the hopelessness of their situation.
In what area of your life do you need to take that final step of faith?
Prayer:
Lord, thank you that you care for us. Help me to trust you and take that step of faith and obedience.
Amen
