Ephesians 3:1-13
by Andrés Chinchín

“In him we have freedom and confidence to approach God through faith” (Ephesians 3:12).

In this portion of the letter to the Ephesians, the apostle Paul recognizes God’s sovereignty over everything, and that is how he considers himself a prisoner of Christ for the sake of the gospel. In our lives, things happen that seem unfair and inexplicable; however, God is in control and uses them for our good and that of our neighbours.

In Paul’s life, God used that time of imprisonment to write the epistles of Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians and Philemon, and thus promote the gospel of which we, the Gentiles, are also heirs.

To think about:

Whatever our circumstances, God is in control, and he will use them for our good.

Prayer:

Thank you, Lord, for your love and mercy towards us. We recognize that you are the sovereign God of all, and whatever our circumstances, we are under your mantle and your protection. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Amen
