Ezekiel 37:21-28
by Andrés Chinchín
“My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people” (Ezequiel 37:27).
The restoration of God’s temple is the pinnacle of the prophets’ preaching. The temple represents the place where God dwells, and the intimacy he shares with his people. By restoring the temple, God demonstrates to his people that despite their disobedience—which led to their exile—he is willing to resume a relationship with them. This relationship is even deeper for us in Jesus Christ, since the temple is no longer just a place, but the believer himself.
To think:
We are the temple of God.
What would change in our lives and actions if we embodied that truth?
Prayer:
Lord, thank you that you forgive your people and renew them with an intimacy and commitment even greater than the first. Please help me live in a way that honors that commitment.
Amen
