John 12:44-50
by Andrés Chinchín

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love”(John 15:9).

In these verses, Jesus teaches us that he is the vine and that his followers are the branches that bear his fruit. This fruit does not refer to the number of followers, nor to personal achievements, but to the formation of the character of Christ within us, in such a way that his followers become little Christs to the world.

To think:

It is the great love of God that has called us to be part of his vine, but our responsibility is to remain in it through obedience to God’s commandments.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for loving me as the Father has loved you. Help me to remain in your love, in obedience, so as to bear fruit that lasts.

Amen
